Dating & Relationships

Dating & Relationships is a semester-long course that helps high school students build the skills, character, and gospel-centered perspective needed for healthy relationships of every kind—friendships, family relationships, and dating. Within the context of Heavenly Father's plan for His children, students explore the purpose of dating, practice concrete conversation and social skills (including the SOAR and FORD methods), and work through the discomfort of social risk-taking in order to grow more confident and capable. Units address emotional intimacy, expectations, planning a date, love languages, etiquette, personal boundaries, recognizing relationship red flags, conflict resolution, and the meaning of love and physical affection. Throughout the course, students are asked to apply these skills at home and with peers, deepening their appreciation for parents and siblings and strengthening their capacity to build lasting, respectful relationships.
