Civility

Civility is a semester-long course designed to teach students how to engage in difficult conversations with clarity, emotional maturity, and intellectual discipline. Students will explore roots of social conflict, cognitive bias, and polarization, while learning practical strategies like listening with strength, decoding moral language, building coalitions, and repairing conversations. Through dialogue practice, real-world examples, psychological research, and collaborative activities, students develop humility, curiosity, mutual respect, and healthy disagreement.
